Margarita & Johnny

Seattle, Washington

Margarita Kashkuli

Margarita was born and raised in Kazakhstan and loved dancing from an early age. Since the age of 6 Margarita has been competing and performing sports acrobatics and is holding an international master’s license after winning multiple European Cups and The Asian Championship. Margarita’s 11 years in professional sports included classical training of ballet mixed with modern dance.

Margarita got introduced to bachata after she moved to the US and graduated college. She became serious about the dance after she traveled to Spain and fell in love with the Bachata Sensual style. She trained with the Creators and Ambassadors of Bachata Sensual and wanted to help grow this style in the US. Margarita met her partner Johnny in 2018 and they started training and eventually teaching Bachata Sensual together. Margarita and Johnny concentrate on teaching safe technique, concepts of ‘leading and following’, and partner connection with focus on social dancing skills. Margarita enjoys analyzing the movements and finding different ways to break it down for students to learn.

Johnny Huinac:

Johnny was born and raised in Guatemala and was exposed to “Son de Guatemala”, bachata, salsa and merengue music from an early age. Dancing “Son Guatemalteco” and merengue was part of the culture and Johnny has listened to a lot of bachata without knowing much about the dance yet. When Johnny moved to the US, he got introduced to bachata and started dancing and developing his urban bachata style while practicing with friends and at the socials. Johnny really enjoyed dancing to bachata music considering the influence while he was growing up. Johnny met his partner Margarita in 2018 and they started training and eventually teaching Bachata Sensual together. They trained with the Creators and Ambassadors of Bachata Sensual in Spain and wanted to help grow this style in the US. Johnny and Margarita concentrate on teaching safe technique, concepts of ‘leading and following’, and partner connection with focus on social dancing skills. Johnny really enjoys learning, teaching and seeing his students grow.
